Very interesting weekend in front of us. Derby matches are playing all around and we are here to remind you on that . Tonight from 20 hours in Velenje in slovenian derby meeting Gorenje and Celje Pivovarna Lasko. Its wasn't so often in history of Slovenia league, that this two teams playing mutually matches from position two and three on the League table (both 8 points). This year is big contender, leader Cimos Koper (9 points). So because of that, this win is very important for both, to keep champions ambitions alive. Just on few hundred kilometers from Belgrade, at Sunday from 12:30, there is another European derby. In Seged is playing – Pick Szeged and MKB Vesprem!
After two important win in a row against Prevent in Cup and League, Gorenje is ready for big match. We noted comment about derby with CPL from Ivan Cupic, Gorenje's right wing, who is back in good form after serious finger injury:
– It will be very tough game. Hopefully, hall will be full and our fans will lead us to the win. Celje is big team with good coach. They showed that after defeat against Prevent in domestic competition, when they had two comfortable win in Champions League. Hard task is in front of us, but we want two points. If we fighting as we done against Prevent, we will be very close to achieve that.
In Seged are meeting two undefeated teams in Hungarian championships (Seged 9/9 – Vesprem 7/7), but that information is not so fresh or important for many years in a row. Success and quality of this two teams are only measureable in European games or this derby matches between them. It's looks like that in difficult position is team which coaching Vladan Matic, who has problems with injuries and who probably "Say goodbye" to chances for second round of CL, after two defeats at home against Neckar and Zagreb. So, we won't be so smart, if give a comment that success in this match are very important for Seged in every way. Also, Vesprem coming to Seged, surprisingly defeated in last CL match in Iceland from Haukar (26:27). That defeat could dislocate their goals in European competitions this year. Last season derby matches of this two teams looked like "street fights". Did they bury in the ground war axes or not, and what will happen at the end, we will hear in Sunday after two o"clock.
