The World Championship is going slowly to its end. The excitement is getting bigger and bigger while Sunday and the final is approaching.
I can not stop thinking about one thing that is passing my mind constantly – who will become the best in the world? Relaying on what I have seen during this 10 days I am sure France is the best team in Croatia. Claude Onesta's team has everything needed for gold medal. Superb defense, great counter-attacks, extreme shots from distance and magnificent goalkeeper.
Their biggest threat is Croatian team who did not convince me yet. I have a feeling they would lost at least one match if they were not on home ground and with superb public. Far away from glamorous are Germans – in my opinion they should not even play in main round – they are bad! I think some other teams deserved this place more … And here we come to something what is a black spot in handball – referees.
I am wondering if referees will take destiny in their hands?!? It is widely know that host team always has some privileges in big championships. Like in previous WhC in Germany where Heiner Brand's team had exceptional help of men with whistle. Final should be France – Croatia if Olympic Champions will not be stopped before … Because of mystic circumstances.
I do not what to predict or make accusations, but I am sure Croats who "must" enter to the final will have some support from referees. No problem, it they deserve to gain first place, great. I will congratulate them but if the opponent will be better and someone will not allow them to win, this is another thing. I hope sport will win and not some "backstage" agreement.
