Balkan-Handball.com talked with Serbian and former HSG Nordhorn, line player, Rastko Stojković (28), now in Polish champion, Vive Kielce.
How are your first impressions from Kielce?
– The beginning was good, it´s a very professional club. We had a tournament with HSV Hamburg, Pick Szeged and TuS-N-Luebbecke. We won against Szeged and Luebbecke, we just lost against Hamburg but that was no big surprise. We fighted in the game versus Hamburg and we are satisfied with the second place and I am personaly very satisfied with the situation.
After 5 years in Germany you now take an offert from Poland, what are the reasons that you signed in Kielce?
– In professional sport all is possible, we go there where is the money, cause that is from which we life. Kielce has with Bogdan Wenta, Mariusz Jurasik and me a coach and 2 players which former was long time in german Bundesliga. That is something special. Wenta and Jurasik are Polish and they trust in this club so I trust also in the club and feel safety.
What you think can you reach international, how you see Kielce to other clubs in Europe?
– It was one of my targets to make a step in the future. With HSG Nordhorn I was in final of Cup-Winners Cup and we just failed the title. Now I can play in the Champions-League. In qualification we must win versus Presov and Porto and we are the favorit cause we play home in Kielce. In the main round we have to fight with Bosna Sarajevo and Gorenje Velenje, we are on one level. We need some luck, but I hope that we get the 4. place than in our group.
You was 5 years in Germany, how was the time for you?
– It was a very good time for me and I am really sad about the whole situation in Nordhorn. Nordhorn is a big club and we had a great team, I really hope that they come back very fast.
What was the secret of the team in Nordhorn? They fighted till the end, when the half team changed in the winter break?
– Yes it was really said. The team had the hope till the end that the projekt HSG Nordhorn-Lingen can survive with new money. Unfortunately ist not happend, but similiar if with us ore with new players. I hope that the club mount back financial and come back to Bundesliga, thats really my big wish.
