There was a big storm surrounding the possibility that Nikola Karabatic will move to Rhein-Neckar Lowen. Wishing to continue his previous cooperation with Zvonimir Noka Serdarusic, who took the charge of the 'Lions' from Mannheim and who wishes to create the best european team from next summar onwards, the best player of the world Nikola Karabatic has criticized THW Kiel for not giving a new contract to Serdarusic, who brought a lot of titles to Kiel, including the most important one, the Champions League title. There are rumors that at this moment Rhein-Neckar Lowen has so much money, that they can offer a two times bigger wage to Karabatic – than the one he has now, if he joins the club. The sum the 'Lions' are ready to pay to Kiel for Karabatic is between 1,5m-2m euros (until now, the biggest sum paid was 1mil euros). If we add here the possible wage for Karabatic, which wouldn't be under 40 000 euros per month, then we speak of 'impolite offer'.
However, contemplating the fact that Karabatic has three more years of his current contract, a lot of effort will be required to get things done. The General Manager of the club, Uwe Schenker, the most responsible for Serdarusic's leave from the club, said that he 'doesn't believe that the 'Lions' can meet their conditions, but that they're ready to take the talk from the media to the table'. Publicity is guaranteed, considering that Karabatic publicly announced his desire to leave the club. After him, there was a similar rumors regaridng Vid Kavticnik, the Slovenian right wing, who also mentioned similar reasons for joining the 'Lions'. As it usually happens, the best player go to the richest clubs, so the media also circulated rumors that the managers of Rhein-Neckar Lowen are also interested in Johannes Bitter, the TSV Hamburg goalkeeper and first goalkeeper of the German national team, but Hamburg immediately denied this.
