After visiting Kechkemet where the home team led by Marinko Kekezovic (13 goals) convincingly beat Pick Szeged 40:32 (20:15), Vladan Matic left the club by mutual agreement with president Lele Ambrus. This was the result of a very bad streak by the Szegedin boys, which lost in their latest CL match, in Constanta against the home team, which was an important game for them. Vladan Matic remains the most trophied coach in the history of the club, considering that the club won the Hungarian league title in 2007 after 11 years of Veszprem winning it. However in the last two seasons, Veszprem showed their strength, with good managing of the club, while they also have a very big team budget as well as good club politics which make them the same level with the biggest european clubs. The former left wing of the Yugoslav national team, who laid down his shoes right in Szegedin, offered resignation as the club coach after last seasons defeat to Nordhorn in the quarter-final of the EHF Cup, but the resignation was not accepted. The name of the new coach will be known by Sunday, and the team by then will be coached by Avar Gjergji.
