For the first time in their history, the handball players of FCK won the Cup Winners Cup. FCK's coach which is always accompanied by controversies, Anja Andersen, continues where she stopped two years ago, at winning trophies. After last season's empty odyssey with poor Slagelse and this years failure to win the league, Anja Andersen saved the season by winning the Cup Winners Cup.
FCK beat Larvik with 26-21 in the return game of the final, and overcome the 2 goal deficit from the first game. Touray with 8 and Batinic with 7 goals lead the Copenhagen team to the trophy, while for the Norwegian team the most efficient were Breivang(6) and Loke(5).
After the qualifications and the entrance of FCK to the group stage in the Champions League, they had a big fight for going further in the CL. Until the last round all options were open, but Buducnost made it difficult for the Danish team and as 2nd placed team went to the quarter-finals. FCK continued their Euro games with a duel against the Czech team Zora Olomouc, which was easily beaten.
