The best team in Europe in female competition is Viborg! The handball players of the danish team, and at the same team the most expensive team, proved their ratings and after a disastrous last season, brought the CL trophy back to Denmark. Despite the defeat at home to Gyor (23:25), in the return match in Hungary in the Veszprem Arena in front of 5100 fans, Viborg won by three goals 26:23 (14:10), and left the Hungarian girls, which are specialists in losing in finals, to keep dreaming the Champions League Trophy.
The best in the Danish team which won their 2nd CL title, was Katrine Lunde Haraldsen. The Scandinavian girls were leading 14:10 at halftime, then 18:12, 21:14. They began to celebrate early, so Gyor with a good serie of goals, brought back the score to 18:21. That promised a very interesting ending of the game, in front of the 'crazy' home fans. Two minutes before the end, the score was identical with those of the first game, 25:23 for the visitors. However, Lund scores for 26:23, and the chance for Gyor was missed through the penalty by Herr, which was a reason for a great celebration for the Danish girls.
